Introducing TriDef® Photo Builder software for CG artists who want to see their images on a 3D Display.
You may be closer to 3D than you think.
TriDef Photo Builder creates TriDef Photos from your favorite graphics application files for viewing on any TriDef enabled 3D Display. It does this in one of two ways:
In your graphics application, save multiple views of a scene along a camera path. Drag and drop these files onto TriDef Photo Builder to create a single Multi-view TriDef Photo, or
Export the z-buffer from the CG application (you can use the TriDef 3ds max Plug-in to do this) then use TriDef Photo Builder to combine the 2D image with the z-buffer to create a Depth based TriDef Photo.
You can view TriDef Photos with TriDef Photo Viewer or the TriDef PowerPoint Plug-in. If you cannot access multiple views or export a z-buffer from your image files use TriDef Photo Transformer to create your TriDef Photo.

TriDef® Photo Builder allows you to:
- Convert multiple views of an scene into a single Multi-view TriDef Photo
- Combine a 2D image with Z-buffer depth information to create a Depth based TriDef Photo
- Import images from JPEG, PNG, BMP and TriDef Photo files
- Export images
- as TriDef Photo, TriDef 3D Image, 3D image, or 2D-compatible 3D
- to PowerPoint
- Preview your 3D image at full screen resolution
- Automatically switch 3D on or off on the Sharp RD3D laptop
- Set Scene Depth and Focal Point
- Drag and Drop to open images
- Edit embedded image properties such as title and copyright information
- Get online help or tooltips

Minimum System Requirements:
- 500 MHz Pentium-II class PC computer
- 96 MB RAM
- Standard 8 MB SVGA Video card suitable for high resolutions.
- Windows 98/NT/ME/2000/XP
- Microsoft PowerPoint XP (optional)
- For Sharp RD3D Notebooks only: Sharp Stereo Drivers 1.0.2.1 (or better)
- Supported 3D Display types (please contact us if your display is not listed - new Models may be added as they are available):
- StereoGraphics SynthaGram SG182 18"; SG202+204 20"; SG231 23"; SG404 40”, SG421 42"; SG422 42"
- Sharp PC-RD 3D Series laptops, Sharp LL-151-3D 15” Monitor
- SeeReal C-i, C-s, D4D CAD, D4D MED
Known issues and limitations
- For Sharp RD3D Notebooks only: If the Sharp Stereo Drivers 1.0.2.1 (or better) are not installed, the automatic switching of the display will not work. You will have to switch the display manually using the 3D Button.
- Printing Help topics on some laser printers results in images only printing in black and white, not grays (known WinHelp issue).
- The TriDef Control Panel cannot automatically set the resolution and refresh rate of a 3D Display if it is part of a cloned display pair with a 2D Display. See Help/Selecting a 3D Display for more information.
